Wekiva Springs is part of a
larger system of hospitals that provide hope and healing to
thousands of people every year. Wekiva Springs has developed many
specialized programs which differentiate us from other treatment
providers. Each program is customized to meet the needs of the
individual and their family.
Center for Women
at Wekiva Springs
In today’s world, women of all ages face enormous pressure to live
up to unrealistic expectations -- their own and those of
others.
Physically, psychologically, socially and emotionally, women deal
daily with issues that are different from those of men—and we have
significantly different responses to problems.
Women are the most likely victims of trauma. In addition to
experiencing mood disturbances such as depression or anxiety, women
often cope by turning to alcohol or drugs, or abusing their bodies
through eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia, and binge and
compulsive overeating. The result is a vicious cycle for women and
their families.
Women, and the unique challenges they face throughout their lives,
are the sole focus at Wekiva Springs Center for Women. Healing and
wellness, through treatment offered in a safe and supportive
environment, await you.
The Men's
Retreat
The Men’s Retreat is a 20 bed unit located on the acute care
wing. The program specializes in the treatment of mood disorders,
anxiety disorders, substance abuse and chemical dependency.
Detoxification and rehabilitation treatment will also be
available.
This very exclusive unit offers a setting that provides the client
with the utmost confidentiality in a secluded setting. The gender
specific unit will afford men the opportunity to obtain customized
services in an environment that will address men’s treatment
related issues. Gender specific treatment will focus on
relationships, communication and anger management.
Our approach to treatment is individualized, holistic, multifaceted
and multidisciplinary. Assessments will include comprehensive
medical, psychiatric and social evaluations. The assessments will
provide a plan to promote mental wellness and recovery.
Interventions may include crisis intervention, individual therapy,
group therapy, family therapy, nutritional education, medication
management and recreational therapies.
