For Patients & Families
We treat adults, ages 18 and older, struggling with addictions and/or mental health conditions. Some of our patients have what is commonly referred to as a dual diagnosis, which means they have been diagnosed with a behavioral health condition and struggle with addiction to drugs or alcohol.
At Wekiva Springs Center, we focus on the whole person. Each patient’s treatment program is customized by our multidisciplinary team which is why there’s no such thing as a “typical” day at Wekiva Springs Center. However, all treatment plans have elements in common. Every patient sees her primary therapist and an attending physician on a regular basis. Patients are engaged in a busy schedule of daily activities and have access to an on-site therapist throughout the treatment day. As you review the following sample daily schedule, notice the balance of therapeutic modalities. There are also opportunities for patients to learn relaxation and coping techniques; practice positive, life-enhancing new skills; and enjoy the feedback and support of their peers in therapist-facilitated gatherings.
The Wekiva Springs approach to wellness is customized, holistic and multidisciplinary. Interventions may include comprehensive medical and/or psychiatric evaluations, nutritional education, individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, experiential groups, education groups and medication management. The primary treatment approach is cognitive behavioral. For those patients with substance abuse issues or those who are dually diagnosed, a 12-step program is included in the treatment regimen.
We believe the spiritual component to treatment is very important and we hope that people of all faiths will be able to reconnect with their spiritual center at Wekiva Springs.
When a patient completes treatment at Wekiva Springs, it is a new beginning, but it is just the beginning. Special emphasis is placed on discharge planning and aftercare. Prior to the patient’s departure, he/she will have developed a specific and comprehensive physical, emotional and spiritual discharge plan going forward.
